Now that I know how to cut glass bottles, I am addicted to incorporating them into my creations. Of course it's always nice to upcycle and give new life to an old object. You could also argue that emptying and collecting wine bottles for crafting is a really good excuse to get together with your friends this summer. I simply love the beautiful array of colors, shapes and sizes that bottles come in. The possibilities for creation are endless.

At first, I created a bunch of self-watering vases with wine bottles. I posted a step by step tutorial and a some pictures of the vases I made last Sunday.

The vases were just the beginning. Next, I made a lovely blue sun catcher/wind chime to hang out on our patio. I just cut a wine bottle, added a cork, some wire, fishing line and glass beads. Perfect

And here's a little secret...

When I create projects for myself or to give as gifts, I frequently incorporate my initials or name somewhere. This time I went with an "e" in the charm that dangles from the bottom of the chime. It's made with wire between two pressed glass marbles that I glued together.

I loved my sun catcher, but when I saw the hanging wine bottle lantern from the Etsy treasury I featured last Friday, I thought I would give one a try. Cut wine bottle, wire and a tea light candle.

The wind chime and lantern were perfect for the patio, but I couldn't just let the bottoms of those gorgeous blue bottles go to waste. Why not use them as tea light candle holders?

Other things to make with the bottoms of glass bottles. Try drinking glasses for your favorite summer beverage or even a pen, pencil or paintbrush holder.

Have fun collecting glass bottles and crafting your own amazing creations!
