I love developing patterns, like Butterfly Kisses. Although designing projects for KALs (knit alongs) is more labor intensive, it gives me an opportunity to teach new skills that people may not already be familiar with.
The yarn is HiKoo Sueño and is a blend of 80% Superwash Merino / 20% Viscose from Bamboo. I used color 1497, Flamingos Tonal, for the pattern and you will also see color 1450, Violet Tonal, in the KAL tutorials.
During the KAL I will be demonstrating how to do a provisional cast on, make the bowknot stitch, join stitches with Kitchener Grafting, use a long tail cast on in the round, shape the thumb gusset with raised (make 1) increasing, bind off in the round, pick up stitches for a gap-free thumb.
You can find a full list of techniques that will be taught and links to the lessons in the Butterfly Kisses KAL Introduction.
Happy knitting!

What is a Butterfly Kiss?
This earwarmer and fingerless mitts set features a stitch commonly known as the bowknot stitch.Butterfly Kisses: When you blink your eyes close to another person's skin so that your eyelashes brush across their skin.To me this stitch looks something like a cross between a little butterfly and eyelashes so the name butterfly kisses seemed like a perfect match.
