Understanding knitting terminology is like learning a new language. Four terms that can be confusing to new knitters are right side, wrong side, front and back.

Materials
Thanks to Skacel for providing the HiKoo Sueño Yarn and addi Click Bamboo Interchangable Neeldles shown in this post. These products are available locally at many yarn shops and online at Makers' Mercantile.Right Side and Wrong Side
Right side and wrong side refer to the orientation of the finished knit fabric.
The right side is the pretty side that people will see when your item is in use
The wrong side is the (less pretty) side of the fabric that people probably won't see when your item is in use.
The wrong side is the (less pretty) side of the fabric that people probably won't see when your item is in use.
Front and Back
Front and back refer to the orientation of the fabric as you are knitting it.
The front is the side you are looking at as you knit. Sometimes the right side is at the front and sometimes the wrong side is at the front.
The back is the side you can't see as you knit. Again, sometimes the right side is at the back and sometimes the wrong side is at the back
