Entrelac is one of my favorite types of knitting techniques because it creates a complicated looking fabric that is deceptively simple to work. So, over the next few posts, I'll be teaching you how to create the basic triangles and rectangles used in entrelac, beginning with base rectangles.
Thanks to Skacel for providing the yarn and knitting needles used in this tutorial. These products are available locally at many yarn shops and online at Makers' Mercantile.
Before You Begin
An entrelac piece can be started one of two ways, either with a foundational row of triangles or rectangles. Base triangles give the project a straight edge. Base rectangles create a decorative zig-zagged edge.Materials
