Originally released in 2017 with top down instructions, my Best Worsted Socks pattern has been updated and improved to include both top down and toe up instructions and a slight modification to the heel.
Best Worsted Socks
Materials
Originally designed with acrylic yarn, for better wear I now recommend using a wool or wool blend. Wool is a naturally anti-microbial fiber which helps reduce bacteria growth in garments and is often a logical choice for socks. I knit my socks with simpliworsted by HiKoo, a blend of 55% Merino superwash wool, 28% acrylic and 17% nylon. This yarn is available locally at many yarn shops and online at Makers' Mercantile.
Sizes and Skills
The pattern is graded for 4 sizes which should fit most adult sized feet. The heel for both the top down and toe up versions uses shadow wrapped short row shaping.
