Evenly Spaced Increases & Decreases

Knitting patterns often direct knitters to decrease or increase stitches evenly over a certain length to shape a garment, such as a sweater sleeve. Unfortunately, not all knitters are comfortable with the math involved. If you fall in that category, relax. You probably learned all the math you need for the calculation in elementary school and just need a quick refresher for how the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division work together and relate to your knitting.
