I’m knitting a pair of Founders Day Socks and I’d like to show you how to work the 1/1 right purl cable and the 1/1 left purl cable without a cable needle.
There’s certainly nothing wrong with using a cable needle, but when you’re only crossing one stitch over another, it can be quicker and easier to rearrange the stitch order without any extra tools. And that’s all that cabling really is, just knitting your stitches (or in our case knitting one stitch and purling the other) in a different order than they originally appeared on your needles.
