Monthly Wrap Up | February 2023

Patterns
Welcome to our monthly wrap up. There are no new patterns in the shop this month, however, I would like to show you one of my favorite patterns, my Ready, Set, Go Socks. I'm using the top-down version of this pattern right now with a class of new sock knitters.

Ready, Set, Go Socks
Knit a simply-patterned, gender-neutral, pair of top down socks with three different heel shaping options. The flap and gusset heel is a good fit for adults with an average instep. The gusset heel is a good fit for adults with a higher instep. The short row heel is a good fit for adults with a lower instep.
I like using this pattern for new sock knitters because the design across the instep is fairly basic, but it allows the students a chance to explore three different heel shaping methods: a flap-less gusset heel, a short row heel, and the traditional flap and gusset heel.
A toe-up version of the Ready, Set, Go Socks pattern is also available in the shop.

Projects
First, I have a new pot holder for Grammy on my needles, made with flame-resistant, hand spun wool. I'm going to be binding it off and seaming it up, very soon.
Since I'm teaching the class in how to knit the Ready, Set, Go Socks, I have a pair of Ready, Set, Go Socks on my needles. I happen to be using the leftover bits from the new sock pattern that is coming out next week. So make sure to stay tuned for that.
