For years my husband and I talked about taking a trip to Alaska. With such rugged terrain and isolated locales, we decided the most efficient way for us to explore would be on an Alaskan cruise. The itinerary we finally booked had us leaving out of Vancouver to explore 3 stops along Alaska's inside passage and Glacier Bay National Park.

Our first day at sea was mostly about relaxing and anticipating the natural wonders and wildlife encounters that were ahead. We had time to soak in the sunny skies and gaze at the vast blue sea.

I could have spent the whole day watching the mesmerizing wake trail behind the ship while imagining the adventures that lie ahead.
