I love knitting socks from the toe up and one method I regularly use to finish my socks is the elastic bind off. This technique works well for sock cuffs or any other knit edge that needs a little extra stretch.
Thanks to Skacel for providing the Zitron Trekking Sport yarn used in this tutorial. This yarn is available locally at many yarn shops and online at Makers' Mercantile.
Elastic Bind Off
The elastic bind off is a slightly stretchier version of the lace bind off. It can be worked across ribbing, stockinette, or just about any stitch pattern. You should be aware that this bind off tends to flare out the edge slightly.
