A Note from Ellen
This month has been more about planning than producing. Rather than sharing links to the latest content I'd like to tell you what's on the drawing board for 2024. I think you're going to be excited.
I've started requesting yarn for the five new patterns I'm working on for next year. Four will be sock patterns (and complementary treats to our Plus Level Members as soon as they are released).
I can't divulge everything about the patterns right now, but I can tell you that if you like my Polarity Hat or Sleepy Sheep Socks you're going to love what's on the way. The fifth pattern (not socks) will be for the annual KAL with my friends from Makers' Mercantile.
I'll be producing about 20 new video lessons for the the 5 new patterns. (As always, Paid Members can watch the new stuff ad-free on our website before it's released publicly on our YouTube Channel.)
Three non-video series are also in the works:
- Several Styles of Selvages: A study in knit edgings
- From Skein to Sweater: My process for turning 5 skeins of handspun into my new favorite sweater.
- Increases and Decreases: How they stack up
Since they are not in video format, these series will only be available on our website.
Handwoven Rug Shop
You may remember earlier this year when I wrote about Ukki, my rug loom.
Ukki has been getting a lot of use. In true Finnish-American fashion, I've been scouring thrift stores, garage sales and my friends' linen closets for reclaimed materials to weave a line of durable, sustainable and stylish rugs.
Starting in late-spring, I'll be doing quarterly(ish), limited-time product releases in the new Heirloom Rugs section of the shop.
With everything that's coming in 2024, this is a good time to login to your account to manage your newsletter subscription preferences or update your membership status so you don't miss any of the good stuff that's on the way.
See you next year!
