Picking Up Stitches Along an Edge
What do you do when a pattern says to pick up and knit a stitch? The most obvious option is to follow the directions literally. However, where you pick up the edge stitch (under the front, back, or both loops) and how you twist or not twist the stitch as you knit can create a variety of different effects.
