Slip, slip, knit and slip, slip, purl.

When working in tockinette stitch - knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side - the slip, slip, knit (ssk) and slip, slip, purl (ssp) are both decreases that slant to the right on the right side and to the left on the wrong side.
