Stitch by Stitch Hem

A folded-over edge, creates a tidy and flexible finishing touch.

Most of my hand knit socks are finished (or started) with a basic ribbed cuff. However, another option for finishing toe-up socks is with a picot edge and a stitch by stitch hem. This is not the fastest way to finish a pair of socks, but it sure is pretty.

A stitch by stitch hem can feel a little tedious, sort of like when you are Kitchener grafting. Here's my little rhyme that helps me remember the process and focus on something kind of silly.
