While on an extended stay in Finland, I had the opportunity to tour much of the southern part of the country. There were birch forests everywhere! In the mid-summer light, their bark often appeared to be pink rather than white. Since I somehow neglected to take a single photograph of the birch trees, my imagination was my guide as I wove.
